Everybody has a hobby, everyone collects something
I have so many hobbies or pastimes, I lose track of them sometimes. More often, I just move on to something else that seems more interesting.
Some people collect stamps, DVDs, Music CDs, Wine, Real Estate, Cars, Books, Cats. You name it, there are people who collect it.
Everybody has opinions. Tons of them. The biggest problem with a strong opinion is that the mind becomes closed to reason. The inability to change or look at a given topic from a different perspective.
I have some opinions that are very strong, and I find it difficult to change them.
Such as network TV. It sucks. If our society has changed so much, why are soap operas still dominating afternoon tv? Why are those idiotic game shows still on?
What severely limited individual wants to waste their morning watching Regis Philbin? Where did that old has-been come from? And that blonde bimbo whats-her-name thats on the show with him?
The old wise cracking, vaudeville new yawka guy & the bimbo. How entertaining.
Then there is the local & network news. Rife with murder, mayhem and contrived events to make the viewer feel either helpless, or glad it didnt happen to them.
Have you ever noticed how local TV and local newspapers DO NOT publish anything critical of car dealerships or real estate developments? Because they are huge, huge advertisers. They make more money off ads than they do from anything else.
How about all that junk mail in your mailbox. Ever wonder where it comes from? Tons and tons of paper that very few read. It comes from your local newspaper. Yep. The only printing press big enough to handle the output.
All of the auto traders, pennysavers, joe-joes drug store, acer hardware, sears and fastbuck, cold day in hell banker real estate, and more.
There is a way to sign up at the post office to have the junk mail routed to the trash can there. I am working on that.
The point of this blog? I have been kicked off more than a couple of message boards. Its not that I viciously attack other posters, its that I point out things people dont want to see. I try to look at things deeper than a superficial level, and sometimes point out the obvious.
We take alot of things for granted, and its human nature not to consider we may have formed a grieviously erroneous opinion. We like to be collective sheep.
Ive got more: pit bulls, politicans (both groups of idiots), corporate greedy weasels, old jeeps, firearms, medicinal marijuana, environmental consultants, old cars in general, rental tenants, rental property owners, home depot,....lots more.
